All staff hold early years childcare qualifications, and are vetted by enhanced level DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service’. References are also requested from previous employers.
Staff attend regular training to update skills and knowledge.
Jean Taha- Nursery Manager and Proprietor
I have managed the nursery since my family and I established it in 2005 and worked in childcare for 16 years. My husband Kasim is a director and registered person and we have 2 grown up daughters. I have Level 5 in Leadership and Management and Diploma in Pre-school Practice level 3. I am one of 2 designated safeguarding leads and attended Safeguarding Training for Managers, along with several other safeguarding training. Other qualifications: Paediatric First Aid, Food safety and Allergy Awareness.
Dawn Eyre- Deputy Manager
Dawn has been with Three Bears Nursery for 5 years, and before this had over 10 years experience working in childcare with children from birth to five years old. She has studied Foundation Degree in Children's Care, Learning and Development at Leeds Metropolitan University and BA in Children's Learning and Early Years Professional Status at Huddersfield University . Dawn is one of two safeguarding leads and has attended advanced safeguarding training, she also has Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene level 2, Allergy Awareness level 2, Inclusive Practice and SEN Code of Practise training.
Abbie Lockwood- Leading Practitioner
Abbie has been based in our Pre School room for over 3 years and has a CACHE level 3 diploma for the Children and Young People's Work Force. She also has Paediatric First Aid, Food hygiene and safeguarding training.
Mais Jabas-Leading Practitioner
Mais is based in our Pre-school room and joined the team over 4 years ago. She has CACHE Level 3 and recently completed a BA(Hons) in Children's care learning and development. Mais speaks 3 languages and enjoys teaching the children basic Spanish. She has attended English as an additional language training and supports arabic speaking children in the setting. She also has Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and has attended several safeguarding courses.
Becky Flanagan- Leading Practitioner
Becky joined Three Bears Nursery 3 1/2 years ago and has 9 years of experience working with children. She is currently based in the Baby Room. Becky has CACHE Level 3 and has recently completed a BA(Hons) in Children's care learning and development, she also has Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and safeguarding.
Christine Richardson-Nursery Practitioner
Christine has been at Three Bears Nursery for nearly 10 years, before this she had over 13 years experience working in school nurseries and reception classes. She has a BTEC national Certificate (Level 3) in Childhood Studies and is based in the Pre School Room.
Amanda Machin- Nursery Practitioner
Amanda is based in our Goldilocks room and has been with Three Bears Nursery for almost 4 years. She has a CACHE level 3 diploma for the Children and Young People's Work Force and has 16 years of child-minding experience prior to staring with us. She also has Paediatric First Aid, Food hygiene and safeguarding training.
April Beswick- Nursery Practitioner
April started with Three Bears Nursery last year. Based in the Pre-School Room, April has 4 years experience and has a level 3 qualification in Playwork. She also has Paediatric First Aid, Food hygiene and safeguarding level 1
Shannon Weir - Nursery Assistant
Shannon is based in our Goldilocks Room and joined us in June 2017, she has Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce. Food hygiene and Safeguarding,. Shannon has relocated to Leeds.
Claire Todd - Nursery Practitioner
Claire joined us in April 2017 and is based in our Baby Bears room. Claire has BTEC National Diploma in Early Years, (Edexcel L3) June 2007, and has 10 years experience. Claire has Paediatric First Aid, Food safety and safeguarding.
Patricia Baxter - Nursery Cook
Pat has recently joined our team. She is excited about cooking for the children and getting to know all their favourites foods so she make them into healthy meals.
